’Their deep broker relationships and multiline specialism represent everything we are building in our wholesale division,’ says deputy chief executive
Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has acquired a new wholesale team, led by Shelley Wright, from Lockton.
SRG said it made the move to expand its London market capability and specialist proposition across Miles Smith, CBC Partnership and The Underwriting Exchange (TUE).
The new team will work closely with UK retail brokers to deliver propositions across property, casualty and financial lines. They will work within Miles Smith, with the two teams set to join forces as one integrated unit.
Wright said: “We’re looking forward to joining SRG at such an exciting time in its journey. From the outset, it was clear that this is a business that understands and values specialism.
”Bringing our team together with Miles Smith under one roof creates a powerful proposition for UK brokers looking for smart, responsive London market access across property, casualty and financial lines.”
SRG expansion
This comes after Lloyd’s broker Tysers struck a deal to transfer its credit and political risk team to SRG in April 2025.

More recently in October, SRG announced a new team that will work with global clients and brokers to place insurance programmes for UK subsidiaries of overseas corporates.
Sitting within SRG’s international pillar, the team will coordinate placements for a wide range of sectors and risk profiles, aligning local UK compliance and service needs with parent-company programme requirements.
SRG said its latest move to acqurie the new wholesale team ”well positions” the broker to enhance its value to brokers navigating complex and hard-to-place risks.
Lee Anderson, group deputy chief executive at SRG, said: “We are delighted to welcome Wright and her team to SRG.
“Their deep broker relationships and multiline specialism represent everything we are building in our wholesale division. This is another step in our ambition to create the leading independent wholesale platform for UK brokers.”
