The collaboration hopes to allow instant quotes and efficient trading through etrade

Insurance technology provider Acturis has announced a new partnership with breakdown underwriter RAC.

RAC provides breakdown cover and car insurance to 12m UK private and business drivers. Its offering also includes breakdown assistance and other motoring services, such as personal loans.

Thanks to the partnership, brokers using Acturis are now able to access RAC Breakdown products directly via their broker management system - this aims to simplify and cut down the length of time for quoting and binding risks.

The partnership also expands the etrading capabilities of Acturis’ cloud platform with the launch of new private, commercial and fleet breakdown products.

Cover for these new products include cars, vans, minibuses and heavy goods vehicles across varied business disciplines, either on a standalone or add-on product basis.

Acturis scheme product manager Russ Anderton said: “Acturis is delighted to partner with the RAC and add this new product offering to our broker base.

“This will allow instant quotes and efficient trading through etrade on the Acturis platform, backed by a strong brand.”

Last year, Acturis was awarded the Business Partner of the Year and Best Broker Software Management House accolades at Insurance Times’s Technology and Innovation Awards.

Adam Culley, head of insurance partners at the RAC, added: “We’ve been working closely with Acturis over the last 12 months and are excited about the new opportunities integration on the Acturis platform provides; it’s made it easier for new and existing brokers to trade RAC breakdown products.

“The RAC can now provide brokers with a complete range of vehicle types and cover levels, from mopeds to the largest HGV, all under one policy.”

The RAC’s proposition enables commercial or personal lines brokers to choose breakdown products to specifically suit a customer’s business, vehicle and cover level requirements, from single assets to mixed fleets.
