Allianz Commercial has appointed James Raven as its new regional head of liability for the UK, effective immediately.
In this role, Raven will lead the Allianz Commercial large corporate liability business across the UK, with responsibility for the profitability and strategic direction of the portfolio.
He succeeds, Luke Baker who was appointed as Allianz Commercial’s director for UK global and AGCS SE branch manager earlier this year.
Raven will report to Baker and continue to be based in Allianz’s London office.
Raven said: “I am thrilled to take on this new challenge within Allianz and lead the UK liability team.
“I look forward to seeing how we as a team can continue delivering innovative and tailored liability solutions to our clients.”
Experience
Raven joined Allianz Commercial in 2022, having previously worked at different insurers across the market, in roles of increasing seniority across his 25 year career in insurance.

Before Allianz, he worked at Chubb for 10 years, where he was most recently a senior casualty underwriter.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
