Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, departures and leadership changes from 12 to 16 January 2026
This week, Axa UK Commercial confirmed it had appointed Caroline Dunn as its new chief underwriting officer, with the former Zurich UK executive set to join the insurer in July.

Dunn, who was most recently chief underwriting officer at Zurich UK, will take up the role on 1 July 2026. Dunn’s appointment follows the retirement of David Ovenden, who has held the chief underwriting officer role since December 2021.
Elsewhere, CFC confirmed that Nick Line had officially joined the business as its chief underwriting officer, following the announcement of his appointment last year.
Line joins from Markel International, where he served as chief underwriting officer. In his new role at CFC, he will lead underwriting activities across the group.
Meanwhile, Admiral announced that Rachel Lewis will become its new group chief financial officer later this year, following the decision of incumbent CFO Geraint Jones to retire from the role.
Lewis, who is currently chief financial officer for Admiral’s UK insurance business, will take up the group CFO role on 1 July 2026 and will join the Admiral board as an executive director.
In addition, QBE announced a number of senior hires as it prepares to launch a new media professional indemnity product within its European operations division.
The insurer appointed Lucy Smith as senior media professional indemnity underwriter and Hannah Dennis as media professional indemnity underwriter. Both will be based in London and have joined from Tokio Marine HCC.
Finally, PIB Group confirmed that it promoted Chris Jackson to the role of chief executive for its underwriting and distribution business.
Jackson co-founded specialist financial lines MGA Acquinex in 2017 and joined PIB Group when the business was acquired in 2021. He will succeed Charlie Burgess, who has resigned to pursue other opportunities, with the changes effective from 1 April 2026.
