Pavel Gertsberg, chief executive and co-founder at ClaimSorted, speaks about his firm’s entry for the Excellence in Claims Technology award
1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the Excellence in Claims Technology category?
We entered because technology should be the core of a claims TPA alongside its people, not an add-on or afterthought. Running our own insurance business and outsourcing claims to traditional TPAs meant policyholders waited 30 days for a simple payment while TPAs did not see anything wrong with it.

We built ClaimSorted to prove that a TPA can be fast, transparent and data-driven, and that claims teams can benefit enormously from technology adoption. This category speaks to our mission to show that modern claims technology can delight customers and cut costs for insurers.
2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
We combine a modern claims platform with an expert claims team, so technology is embedded in every decision and supports handlers throughout the claims process. Our workflows automate data capture, triage, fraud checks and payments, while giving our team time to focus on complex cases and customer experience.
Across programmes, we process claims three to five times faster than traditional TPAs without losing empathy or regulatory discipline. We should win because we show that great claims technology can improve customer experience and control costs.
3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Winning would be a strong signal that investing in claims technology pays off for customers and insurers. It would validate the choice we made to build ClaimSorted after our experience running our own insurance products and outsourcing claims.
For our team, it would recognise that it is possible to care deeply about vulnerable customers and still be obsessive about efficiency and data.
