Insurance Times rounds up appointments, promotions and leadership changes from 1 to 5 September 2025

Starting the week, Howden confirmed that graduate Alexander Mani has secured a three-month internship with the broker after his unconventional job hunt went viral.

Mani took to the streets of London wearing a sandwich board advertising his interest in insurance broking, sparking conversations with market professionals and eventually leading to the offer.

Then, cyber specialist MGA CFC announced that former Direct Line Group and Aviva executive Jane Poole had joined as its new group chief financial officer.

Poole replaces long-standing chief financial officer Michael Grist, who steps back after nearly 16 years in the role. Poole will oversee financial strategy and support CFC’s next phase of global growth.

Following this, RSA named Becky Henry as vice president of eTrade for its UK commercial lines business.

Henry, who has worked at RSA for 26 years, will take full responsibility for SME eTraded products and propositions, reporting to commercial lines managing director Tovah Grosscurth.

Meanwhile, HDI Global expanded its environmental, social and governance (ESG) capabilities with three senior hires.

Chris Strong joined as head of ESG risk proposition, supported by Thordis Jensen as head of ESG risk proposition international and Ludovic Ruiller as head of ESG proposition Europe.

Rounding off the week, Liberty Specialty Markets appointed James Cole as head of client and broker distribution for the UK and Mena region.

Cole joins from Generali GC&C UK, where he was head of distribution, and will report directly to LSM president Luis Prato.
