‘Through our free insurance and risk review, FORS operators will gain insight into potential gaps in cover,’ says head of SME partnerships

Aon has agreed a new arrangement with the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) to provide its members with access to tailored motor fleet insurance propositions, including a no-obligation risk review.

FORS, which represents 4,700 fleet operators across the UK, is a fleet accreditation scheme. It promotes higher safety, efficiency and environmental standards across the haulage and logistics sector.

The new partnership is designed to give operators insight into the adequacy of their existing cover, as well as highlight potential areas of underinsurance.

Cover that is fit for purpose

Rhod Breeze, head of SME partnerships at Aon, said that underinsurance remains a significant concern for UK businesses. He explained: “Tailoring insurance to meet each business’ specific needs is something Aon takes very seriously – especially given that an estimated 50% of UK businesses may be underinsured. It is essential for businesses to review their cover regularly to ensure it is fit for purpose and adequate for the risks they may face.

“Through our free insurance and risk review, FORS operators will gain insight into potential gaps in cover, issues with sums insured and other areas where they can strengthen protection.”

Geraint Davies, FORS concession director, said the collaboration would help members manage insurance alongside wider operational challenges.

He noted: “Fleet managers are under increased pressure to manage risk and compliance while maintaining a keen eye on cost and operational efficiencies. Safety, of course, remains a top priority.

“By working with Aon, we are providing our operators – from single vehicles to large fleets – with access to expert-led insight to evaluate their current insurance arrangements and to ensure they are competitive, compliant and fit for purpose.”
