The road safety campaign will focus on ’establishing data-driven insights, behavioural analysis and insurer collaboration’
Innovation studio The49 has partnered with software propositions provider Adjacent Systems to launch its new SpeedWatch campaign.

The firm said the campaign is aimed at creating a “new, parallel, insurance-facing track for the UK’s leading community road safety programme, Community Speedwatch”.
Community Speedwatch is a volunteer-led vehicle speed monitoring and awareness initiative, run across seven UK regions and benefiting from police support.
The SpeedWatch campaign will focus on “establishing data-driven insights, behavioural analysis and insurer collaboration to scale the data collection and deliver road safety nudges across the UK”.
The49 also said that the data-led partnership with Adjacent Systems would “enhance community-led road safety and help with risk management for insurers”.

“With SpeedWatch, we now have the chance to amplify that grassroots mission with national data, insurer engagement and scalable innovation that can deliver measurable impact across the UK.”
James York, VP of insurance growth and innovation at The49, added: “Adjacent’s online platform has already generated one of the richest data sets in the country on driver behaviour and local road risk. This isn’t presently considered, visible or utilised by motor insurers.
“We can not only help scale SpeedWatch’s impact, but create entirely new ways to signal for safer driving, making roads safer for everyone. I naturally encourage anyone with an interest to reach out to hear more.”
