Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, promotions and leadership changes from 20 to 24 October 2025
Among moves this week include Howden appointing Mike Dalby as its new chief executive of consumer and local commercial, following the departure of Kelly Ogley.

Ogley, an Insurance Times columnist, has decided to step down from her role to take some time out with her family and to consider other opportunities after nine years with the broker, including five as chief executive of consumer and local commercial.
Then, Allianz UK announced a raft of senior leadership changes as part of an internal reshuffle.
Chief financial officer Ulf Lange will become managing director for personal lines from 1 December, succeeding Serge Raffard, who is taking on a new role as general manager with responsibility for driving Allianz’s growth ambitions in India.
Replacing Lange as chief financial officer is Michael Ruf, who joins Allianz UK from Munich. In addition, Suzanne Scott, currently chief people and corporate responsibility officer, has been appointed chief people and culture officer, while David Kelly will join as chief audit officer in the new year, taking over from Matt Cox.
Following this, Benefact Group and Benefact Trust confirmed a double chair appointment.
Francois-Xavier Boisseau, currently a non-executive director at Ecclesiastical Insurance, has been named the new chair of Benefact Group and its subsidiary, Ecclesiastical Insurance, succeeding David Henderson.
Henderson will take on a new role as chair of Benefact Trust, the charitable owner of the group that distributes its profits to good causes.
After that, Markerstudy appointed Kartina Tahir Thomson as an independent non-executive director of its distribution board.
Thomson brings more than 25 years of experience across commercial, financial, actuarial, risk, regulation and governance functions, having held roles at Willis Towers Watson and the Bank of England and most recently serving as president of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
Rounding off the week, Patons Insurance promoted long-serving colleague Ben Smith to marketing manager.
Smith, based in Liverpool, joined the family-owned broker in 2015 as a marketing assistant and has been instrumental in its major rebrand and recent growth.
